Plum Tree Psychology is an applicant program seeking accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA) for its Internship in Health Service Psychology.
Once accreditation is granted, the following statement will appear on all public materials:

Training Aims and Model
Our internship provides advanced training in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families.
We follow a developmental-ecological and evidence-based approach that integrates clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and interdisciplinary care.
Interns graduate prepared for entry-level practice in health service psychology.
Required Training Sequence
Length: 12 months, full-time, 2,000 hours
Components: Direct clinical service, psychological testing, psychotherapy, interdisciplinary consultation, case conferences, didactic seminars, and research or program evaluation activities.
Supervision: Minimum of 4 hours per week, with at least 2 hours individual, face-to-face supervision by licensed psychologists.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology
- Have completed all required coursework and practica prior to the internship start date
- Submit a completed APPIC Application for Psychology Internship (AAPI)
Completion Requirements
To graduate, interns must:
- Complete 2,000 training hours within 12 months
- Receive satisfactory ratings on all competency areas in the final evaluation
- Adhere to all program policies and ethical guidelines
Policies
Interns receive written policies covering:
- Vacation and sick leave
- Parental leave
- Grievance and due process procedures
Workload Expectations
These are provided in the Internship Training Manual and reviewed at orientation.
Supervision Structure
All primary supervision is provided by doctoral-level psychologists licensed in Illinois.
Interns receive at least 4 hours of supervision weekly, including a minimum of 2 hours individual, face-to-face.
Facilities and Resources
Interns have dedicated office space, computers, and access to psychological testing materials, scoring software, and professional literature.
Additional resources include telehealth technology, interdisciplinary consultation, and on-site administrative support.
Distance Education
The internship is primarily in-person.
Tele-supervision or remote training may be provided when clinically appropriate or in cases of health or safety concerns.
