Speech-Language Evaluation

Communication is The Heart of Connection
Speech-language evaluations are conducted by Megan McKenna, M.A., CCC-SLP/L to identify communication disorders in individuals of all ages and determine the need for speech-language intervention. These evaluations are designed to assess a range of areas, including:
- Language Skills: Understanding and use of language, including vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure
- Voice and Fluency: Quality of voice and smoothness of speech
- Social Communication: Ability to use verbal and non-verbal communication in social contexts
- Cognitive-Communication: Skills such as memory, problem-solving, and executive function
Who Can Benefit?
Speech-language evaluations are essential for children and adolescents who may have difficulty with speaking, understanding, reading, or writing. Many children with learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, and neurodevelopmental diagnoses such as autism present with communication challenges. There is also a much higher rate of language issues in children diagnosed with emotional and behavioral disorders. Difficulty with communication impacts an individual’s ability to understand information, express wants/needs and thoughts/ideas, interact socially, and access academic curriculum. Our evaluations can help identify the presence of a communication disorder and pave the way for effective intervention.
