About Amy Henrikson, LCPC

Amy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a full-time School Psychologist with more than twenty years of experience in educational settings. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University and continued her graduate training there, completing a Specialist degree in School Psychology. In addition, Amy earned a separate Master’s degree in Counseling from National Louis University.

With extensive experience in schools, Amy is highly skilled in assessing cognitive abilities, academic achievement, adaptive functioning, and psychological well-being. She places strong emphasis on identifying each client’s learning strengths and uses this information to guide meaningful support.

Through her work, Amy collaborates closely with families and teens to determine appropriate interventions for learning differences and emotional challenges. She has experience supporting adolescents and young adults with depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, difficulties with self-regulation, executive functioning challenges, attention difficulties, and autism spectrum disorder.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends. She also likes reading, exercising, traveling, and coaching sports.
