Danielle Nebel, LCPC – Child & Teen Therapist

Danielle Nebel is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who specializes in supporting children, teens, and families through life’s emotional and behavioral challenges. She combines clinical expertise with a warm, approachable style that helps young people feel understood and supported.

Education and Professional Credentials

Danielle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa. She later completed her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling at Argosy University.

Additionally, Danielle is a Licensed Professional Counselor through the Illinois Board of Professional Regulation. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Experience Working with Children and Teens

With more than fifteen years of experience, Danielle has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 3 to 21. She has supported clients in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, inpatient care, and outpatient therapy.

As a result, Danielle brings a broad understanding of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns. She has extensive experience helping children and teens manage anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, conduct disorder, and other emotional challenges.

During graduate school, Danielle completed her internship at a local pediatric psychiatric hospital. There, she focused on helping adolescents experiencing self-injury and suicidal thoughts.

A Natural Connection with Kids and Teens

Danielle has a unique ability to connect with children and teenagers. Her genuine, easy-going personality helps young clients feel comfortable and safe. In fact, many teens recommend Danielle to their friends when they need support — a meaningful reflection of the trust she builds.

At the same time, parents value Danielle’s professionalism, dedication, and clear communication. She works closely with families to help them better understand challenges and feel confident in the treatment process.

Specialized DBT Training and Therapeutic Approach

Danielle completed Practice-Based Intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Training and is a member of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Association. Furthermore, Danielle uses a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches to meet each child’s individual needs. She works closely with children and families to provide practical tools, build coping skills, and navigate difficult situations with confidence.
