Emilia Ollearis

Emilia is in the process of becoming a Doctor of Clinical Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and received her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University in River Forest, IL. She received her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in Child, Adult, & Family Services with a specialization in child development ages birth to 5 years. Emilia has over ten years of experience working with children of all ages and their families in a variety of settings including inpatient, residential, military bases, as well as community mental health centers.

Emilia has a special interest in working with younger children who have behavior concerns, difficulty understanding and expressing their emotions, as well as children who seem to feel things on a deeper level than most. Her goal is to help them embrace these emotions and give them the tools and support to manage them and regain control. Above all, she recognizes the importance of helping reconnect the parent and child and believes that the catalyst for that lies within the therapeutic relationship and the freedom for open and honest communication. Using a strengths-based and psychodynamic approach, Emilia caters each session to the exact needs of the client and helps them and their families to better understand themselves, each other, and the world around them.
