Steven Lesniak

Steven Lesniak is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is also Nationally Certified as well as a full-time high school educator. He earned a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in History Education.

Steven has over 20 years of experience in the education field as a teacher, school counselor, and alternative learning program coordinator. He also has experience working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, self-harm, and school avoidance. Steven uses a CBT-based (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) approach with his clients. His approach is relaxed, straight-forward, and assists the client to grow in a supported environment. He believes it is important that clients learn emotional self-management in order to be effective problem-solvers.

In addition, Steven has presented workshops on college and career readiness, executive functioning, emotional management, transitioning to high school, and anxiety and depression. His approach with clients can be best summarized in the old saying, “Prepare the child for the road, not the road for the child.” Steve works with the client, parents, and stakeholders to create a supported environment that encourages growth and positive outcomes.
